Yesterday, Pastor Neil and I were sitting in a local Starbuck’s (one of our many new church offices throughout the community) catching up about life and reflecting on our current teaching series at Grace Hills. It’s all about the cross. A woman seated directly behind us got up to leave and on her way out the door, put a piece of paper on our table and left. This is what she gave us:

The Cost

The poem is really good, but that last line is stunningly good. “It took a death to purchase life.” As Acts 17:11 says, “Jesus has purchased us with his blood.”

Jeneal Rogers, if you ever read this, thank you! Your poem encouraged us and reminded us of the importance of the cross on which Jesus redeemed us from the ultimate pain of our lostness from God. You be blessed too!
