The Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta
Website Redesign
The Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta’s web presence is quite large. The site contains over 200 pages of information, hundreds of news stories, a directory of dozens of churches, and much more.
My task was to take the existing WordPress-powered site and re-create it using the Divi WordPress theme in a way that the site would have a clean user interface and consistent design standards throughout.
I implemented a “mega menu” that would allow users to quickly navigate into subpages of the site as well as external related websites with as few clicks as possible.
When it came to the homepage, I completely refreshed the layout around a new architecture that put the most pertinent information for the website visitor front and center.
The “Latest News” section is dynamic, pulling in any news stories designated as “featured” on the back end. The subsections near the bottom are dynamic as well with a devotionals column pulling in the most recent posts under that category and a Diocesan events calendar as well. We also built a special News page as a home for all dynamic information in one easy-to-find spot.
Ongoing Content Management
In addition to the initial redesign, I also manage content for the site, posting several new stories each week, updating pages on a regular basis, and making sure everything on the site remains in good working order.
