When you’re thirsty, the arrival of water is good news. When you’re hungry, food is good news. When you’re hurting, healing is good news.

And when you live in a world where everything is flipped, the innocent are oppressed, unrighteous people rule, and human suffering is all around you, the Kingdom of God is very, very good news.

When Phillip, and early servant-leader in the church, arrived in Samaria, a rather broken city, he brought good news.

But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

~ Acts 8:12 NIV

The content of Phillip’s message had to do with the extension of the rule and reign of Christ over anyone who would receive him by faith. Wherever people receive Jesus as King, real change happens. Bondage is broken and the economics of human suffering are upended.

Here is good news for your life – you don’t have to live under a cloud of suffering or the darkness of sin or the tyranny of addiction because the Kingdom of God is near. In fact, Jesus said it is within you.

Wherever Jesus is proclaimed as Lord, the outlook changes, both now and for all of eternity.

The very good King of this very good Kingdom wants you to live under his care forever, if you’re willing.

Wherever Jesus is proclaimed as Lord, the outlook changes, both now and for all of eternity. Click To Tweet
