I’m a pastor, a husband, and a dad. When the world around me is in crisis, I feel deeply within me the burden of caring for both flock and family – to protect and provide for everyone. And I can’t. You can’t either.

That’s exactly why Jesus invited us to himself for help…

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

~ Matthew 11:28 NIV

In context, Jesus was speaking of those who were burdened with the keeping of so many rules and expectations. It’s exhausting. The standards that others set for us are often too high, and the standards we tend to set for ourselves are even higher.

And Jesus says, when you’re trying to carry it all and you hit that wall where you realize you just can’t do it anymore, even at the very end of your rope, come to him.

If you’re tired, weary, exhausted, come to Jesus. He has rest for you. In him is the ultimate quiet place.
