My Thanksgiving List

Yesterday, I had several hours in the car to think and pray while my wife slept (her way of helping get us to the destination, I think). I thought of all kinds of things I’m really thankful for, and wanted to spill out my list on my blog, in no particular order…

I’m thankful for…

God.
God’s Son, Jesus and His death on the cross.
The resurrection.
The Holy Spirit.
Today.
Yesterday.
My wife – she’s awesome.
My daughter – she’s awesome too.
My son – he’s gonna be awesome.
Eternal life.
Abundant life.
Life. Period.
Health.
Sleep.
Food. Especially my daily bread.
My dog – he’s cool.
My church – they’re sweet.
My staff at church.
The Deacons and leaders at Bethel.
Friends. I’ve got some great ones.
Mentors.
Prayer warriors.
My Bible – preserved by the blood of many martyrs.
Martyrs.
Missionaries.
Opportunities.
Open doors.
Closed doors.
Money, especially for the daily bread.
Clothes, shoes, and even shoestrings.
Toys. They’re extra.
Adversity.
Challenges.
Growth.
Change.
Air. It’s vital.
Flight.
Water.
Phones… especially iphones.
Education.
Doctors, nurses, firefighters, teachers, police officers, social workers, and soldiers.
Computers. They’re also extra.
Brothers.
Sisters.
Books.
Coffee… and lattes.
Suffering.
A pulpit.
A home.
Two cars.
A recliner and a few other little things.
Hugs.
Fistbumps.
Boiled custard and those who can make it well.
Scotch tape.
Duct tape.
Bubble tape.
Hymns like There Is A Fountain.
Poems like The Road Not Taken.
Roads not taken.
Roads taken.
Whatever is ahead.

    Hi Brandon,

I discovered you through Fuel Your Blog. Great site.

I love your list–but you forgot about super glue–what scotch and duct tape doesn't fix–surely super glue does. :)–well material objects anyway.

The Road Not Taken is my second favorite poem. How Do I Love Thee by Elizabeth Barret Browning is the first–both have been great influences in how I live my life and treat my relationships.

    It's nice to meet you!
