Running your own blog is great, but there are other off-blog places you can apply your copywriting mojo for an extra income. Will these sites pay as much as the average freelance copywriting gig? Not for most people, but if you have extra time, one or more might be good for extra income, especially if you can write a good blog post in 20 minutes.
Be sure to check the terms to see if you can submit non-exclusive content before throwing your old blog posts into the system.
